Established in 1983, Leist Mercantile offers investors in Central Ohio an opportunity to trade commodities with a local brokerage office.  In 1987, Leist Mercantile became licensed with the State of Ohio to sell and service property and casualty insurance.  In 1992, Leist Mercantile entered the grain marketing field.

• Jerry Leist, owner, is a native of Pickaway County and brings over 30 years of agricultural experience in farming, elevator and store management, commodity trading, and insurance sales.  This background gives him special insight into your investment problems and qualifies him in helping you to enhance and protect your investments.

• Doug Tenney, an OSU graduate and a native of Knox County joined Leist Mercantile in 1990.  Doug has 25 years of grain marketing experience.  He worked in the grain division of a major co-op for 9 years and has been a commodity broker for 16 years.  He also is licensed with the State of Ohio to sell and service property and casualty insurance.  Doug's special insight into grain basis, spreads, and technical analysis qualifies him to head the marketing division of Leist Mercantile.

• Keith Summers,  joined Leist Mercantile in 2001. He has worked for several companies in transportation logistics. His skills in customer service enable him to work closely with clients in our property and casualty insurance division.
